COVID-19—our response:

Delta Dental continues to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

Our top priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of our organization while continuing to service your business.

Here are some of the things we have put in place to meet the ongoing needs of our dentists:

  • We have established an executive task force, including our CEO, executive leaders, a physician and an oral surgeon, to continuously monitor federal and state health official websites; to take action in response to this rapidly changing situation.
  • We continue to execute and test multiple scenarios to ensure our business continues during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • We implemented work from home capabilities where necessary and cancelled all business travel for our employees to keep them safe.

We are confident that we have the technology and team in place to continue to serve your needs.

Teledentistry

Teledentistry provides the means for a patient to receive oral health consultation when the patient and dentist or dental professional are not able to meet in person.

In an effort to help keep dental emergencies out of hospital emergency rooms and allow dentists alternative ways to serve patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, Delta Dental of Nebraska will make an exception and support emergency oral evaluations (D0140) completed via teledentistry in accordance with a member’s benefit plan allowance through 2020. Please note: The additional assessment code (D9995 and D9996) is not covered under the Delta Dental of Nebraska plan. To learn more about teledentistry, please click here.

Dental Office Toolkit

The safety and health of you, your employees and your patients are our top priority. In order for you to conduct business safely and efficiently, you can utilize the Dental Office Toolkit (DOT) in order to submit claims, review patient benefits, access patient’s dental history, view payments and Explanations of Benefits (EOBs), and more.

You can also find the most recent updates and amendments to the current dental terminology (CDT) codes on DOT by logging in and locating the Delta Dental of Nebraska Processing Policies to see how your claims will be handled code by code. This document will be very helpful to you and your front office staff to make sure you are understanding language and terminology used on EOBs.

DOT houses many useful resources and will be especially helpful to those working away from the office or at home. If you have not yet registered for the DOT, please do so here.

If you’re new to DOT, you can view a video tutorial about using DOT here.

Update your listing in the Find a Dentist tool

Our online Find A Dentist tool is important to both our members and your prospective patients. Users can search using the tool to find an in-network dentist in their location. Please be sure to update and verify the information listed every quarter so that your future patients can find you! If your information is old or inaccurate, patients may not be able to reach you. Take advantage of this free benefit provided to you for participating in our network.

Reminder— filed fees no longer required

Since completing our system enhancements two years ago, Delta Dental of Nebraska no longer requires you to file fees! If you update your fees for services, our claims processing system will update based on the claims we receive from your office. We hope you find this new system much simpler and more efficient.

Please stay safe and healthy! Thank you for your partnership!
